Inlays and onlays are a conservative alternative to dental crowns in some cases. They are often used instead of fillings to treat decay or similar damage to the teeth. They offer both cosmetic and function benefits.
They are different from fillings as they are created in the dental lab then fitted and bonded into place. Fillings are moulded directly in the mouth during your dental appointment.
Inlays are bonded within the centre of the tooth whereas onlays are bonded to repair damage to one or more of the outer parts of a tooth
